Eric Stevens is a former D1 athlete, Captain of Cal Football, NFL Fullback for the Rams, and currently a Los Angeles Firefighter. Just five weeks shy of his 30^th birthday and one month after marrying the love of his life, Eric was diagnosed with ALS.

ALS is a rare neurological disease. Most people with ALS live for 2 to 5 years after diagnosis, but paralysis comes much sooner. Currently there is no cure for ALS and on average it costs $300,000 per year in patient care.

The most promising treatment for ALS is called NurOwn and it is currently in phase 3 trial, meaning that people who have been diagnosed and are potentially a good match for this treatment don’t have access to it unless they are accepted into a trial. As you can see, Eric is in the fight for his life.
